GENERAL MEETING MINUTES, October 14, 2015

OPP Monthly Meeting, Vern Burton Community Center

Treasurer’s Report

Pool session: There were 15 people at the last pool session during the two hour duration. To make the most of pool sessions, go in with a game plan – something specific to work on. Feel free to ask for help from those who are more proficient than you.

Jim Benson: paddles

The November club paddle will be Cline Spit. Meet at 10 a.m.

December club paddle is planned for Lake Crescent on Dec. 19. Info will follow.

We need POCs for the following 2016 paddles:

Jan: Freshwater Bay

Feb: Lake Crescent

Mar: Port Townsend

Apr: Freshwater Bay

May: Sequim Bay

These venues are only suggestions. If you are available to POC but want to paddle somewhere else, that’s fine. Contact Dick Grinstad. Remember, being a POC isn’t intimidating. You bear no responsibility for the safety of those on the paddle. You are mainly the person who looks at the weather and water conditions and changes them if deemed necessary (and if you are not sure there are plenty of experienced people to ask for advice), makes sure everyone knows if paddle venue is changed, and make sure everyone is there at the start and at the end of the paddle.

Program: Video “This is the Sea”

Susan Blenk

Secretary stand-in
