Olympic Peninsula Paddlers (OPP) is a club for sea kayakers, white water paddlers, rafters, canoeists and any other paddle-powered watercraft. We are a diverse group united by our love of paddling. Our membership ranges from persons just beginning in the sport to experts in Greenland-style rolling and in surf kayaking; from members looking to purchase their first boat to those that have built their own stitch-and-glue or skin-on-frame kayak.
We hold monthly club meetings from September through June. We have monthly club paddles each month of the year except December, when we have our club Christmas party. Monthly pool sessions are held eight times a year to practice your skills or learn new ones. One group of our membership paddles Port Angeles Harbor early every Friday morning, while another conducts paddles across the Olympic Peninsula each Monday.
Joining OPP offers you the opportunity to network with other paddlers with similar interests, to learn more about paddling through clinics and workshops, to take advantage of discounts at local paddling stores, and to participate in fun events like club paddles, potlucks, and much more. OPP’s website provides a calendar of events, trip reports, a photo gallery, and handy website links. If you are interested in joining OPP, please go to our Membership Information page.
The next club meeting will be June 12th, 2013.
The next monthly paddle will be June 15th, 2013 at Point Whitney.
